Text Subsequently, depiction establishes a schematic structure (Figure 7) both in terms of the production process and the syntactic structure of pictures, characterised by elementarisation, model building and repetition: “abstract” graphic forms, few in number, and a limited set of types of combinations, arrangements and colouring are used for an extensive number of different depictions; simple models are used for analogy formations; elements and models are repeated over longer time periods with no or only small variations.
