2-5: Catalogue of graphic qualities, picture classification

Catalogue

On the basis of the aspects described in the previous chapter, we created a catalogue of graphic aspects and drawing models in order to classify the drawings accordingly. However, because we experienced many cases of pictures in-between the types I and II, and II and III, we added corresponding subgroups.

Classification

All major graphic aspects and drawing models which are manifest in a single drawing were then classified according to this catalogue.

However, if multiple aspects are manifest in a drawing, systematic classification concerned only the assignment of the drawing models directly related to the depiction of humans, that is, types 1 to V, and stick-figures.
